A Decade Analysis Communication Model in Tourism: A Bibliometric Approach

Studies related to Pentahelix in the tourism sector have been widely applied and researched in the tourism sector. In a previous job, we presented a bibliometric analysis of the relationship between Pentahelix in the tourism sector, and in this study, we want to focus more on the communication model applied in the tourism sector, especially the Tourism Village area. The purpose of this study is to identify the evolution of the communication model applied in the tourism sector, especially the Tourism Village area. from time to time, such as source, document type, journal name, publisher name, topic trends, and author collaborations. Bibliometric analysis was used to analyze 1325 articles published between 2012 and 2022. The communication model applied in the tourism sector, especially in the Tourism Village area is the main keyword used in article titles, abstracts, and keywords to get metadata taken from the Scopus database on September 2022, where most of the articles are written in English. The tools used in this bibliometric analysis are Harzing's Publish or Perish for extracting data from Scopus databases and VoS Viewer for data visualization and further used for citation and metrics analysis. for necessity analysis and visualization of bibliometric networks used VoS Viewer software to enter the RIS file that has been saved before. VoS Viewer software is used because of the ability to effectively use data sets from Scopus, precise analysis, and visualization of two interesting dimensions. VosViewer can also make map publications, maps writers, and map journals based on co-citation networks or build keyword maps based on network. The results indicate that the majority of articles related to the communication model applied in the tourism sector, especially the Tourism Village area are published in scientific journals, compared to other publication outlets. Related articles published in scientific journals have received the highest citations compared to others. Based on network visualization, the most dominant terms (often appearing) are Arts and Humanities, business, management, Environment, Multidisciplinary, Psychology, Planet and Economics, Community, Covid, Stakeholder, Consumer, Communication Technology, Promotion, and Networking. When viewed from the overlay visualization, the communication model applied in the tourism sector, especially the Tourism Village area, shows the latest trends in research related to Arts and Humanities, business, management, Environment, Multidisciplinary, Psychology, Planet and Economics, Community, Covid, Stakeholder, Consumer, Communication Technology, Promotion, Networking.
