Abstract

This study examines the Contribution of Hardiness Personality and Mathematical Resilience to Students' Mathematical Anxiety. The purpose of this study was designed to determine the contribution of personality hardiness and mathematical resilience in overcoming students' math anxiety. Research approach this is a quantitative approach with a correlational research design. The population in this study were 413 students of class VIII. The sample of this research was 352 students, using purposive sampling technique. The data collection technique used is a measurement scale. The data analysis technique used descriptive analysis technique and classical assumption test consisting of normality test, linearity test, multicollinearity test, heteroscedasticity test, and hypothesis testing using multiple regression analysis. Based on the results of data analysis obtained, personality hardiness shows a high category with an average of 58.25; mathematical resilience shows a high category with an average of 57.89; and math anxiety showed a moderate category with an average of 137.38. The results of the hypothesis test obtained that the value of Sig. 0.000 < 0.05, then Ho is rejected and Ha is accepted. With multiple regression equation, which means that there is a contribution of personality hardiness and mathematical resilience to students' math anxiety. Based on the coefficient of determination obtained by 69.7% and the remaining 30.3% is influenced by other factors.
