Local Wisdom in Tourism: Review and Future Researches Directions

Abstract

Numerous research on Local Wisdom have been undertaken within the tourism sector. This paper offers a theoretical analysis as a reference relevant to the research topic on which the research is based. In the literature review section, we present selected articles appropriate to the research topic for review using the identification, screening, eligibility, analysis, and conclusion steps. This study aims to find journals or previous studies that are appropriate to local wisdom by grouping them into tables of references, methods, preliminary results, and limitations. Then from the selected articles, we present them in the form of a novelty table to make it easier to find novelty. Then finally, we created a unique table that provides an explanation related to the variables discussed in this study. The selected data was obtained through the Scopus and Google Scholar tools which were entered into a table in CSV format. Furthermore, the database is used to conduct theoretical studies and literature reviews. The study results show that most of the articles related to the topic of local wisdom only provide brief reviews and descriptions without providing explanations and understanding accompanied by accurate data in the field. Many articles were also found to use something other than fundamental theories related to the two.
