Author Information

For author convenience, The AMCS Journal has summarized in the Author Guidelines document how a paper should be structured, how elements (headings, figures, references) should be formatted using our predefined styles, etc. The submitted papers must be camera-ready, 10-15 pages long and formatted according to the AMCS Journal Template [DOC, PDF].

Original Research Paper

It is a long full paper and typically it builds on the existing research on a topic, addresses a specific question, presents the findings according to a standard structure (described below), and suggests questions for further research and investigation..

Methods Paper

This paper aims to completely describe the research methods, equations, data sources, and results in great, reproducible detail. Consequentially, they tend to be long, and results can be buried in the details.

Review Paper

A review paper is developed from other published-related articles. It does not report original research results. A review article generally summarizes the existing literatures on a topic in an attempt to explain the current state of research on the topic. Review articles can be of three kinds:

  • A narrative review explains the existing knowledge on a topic based on all the published research available on the topic.
  • A systematic literature review searches for the answer to a particular question in the existing scientific literature on a topic.
  • A meta-analysis compares and combines the findings of previously published studies, usually to assess the effectiveness of an intervention or mode of treatment. Review papers form valuable scientific literature as they summarize the findings of existing literature. Hence, readers can form an idea about the existing knowledge on a topic without having to read all the published works in the field.

Commentary Paper

It is a comment on a recently published article. A commentary may be based on an invitation from the editor chief or spontaneously submitted by potential author.
